69 YEAR OLD ERNEST NEWTON LANEY WAS PRONOUNCED

DEAD AT THE SCENE. INVESTIGATORS SAY LANEY WAS

HEADING EAST ON F-M 485 ON A MOTORCYCLE, AND AS

HE APPROACHED A LEFT CURVE IN THE ROADWAY, HE

WENT WIDE AND COLLIDED INTO THE GUARDRAIL. NEXT

OF KIN HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED. MILAM D-P-S TROOPER

LUNA INVESTIGATED.

(ROCKDALE)–A SUSPECT IN A WHITE PICKUP WHO LED

POLICE ON A PURSUIT THROUGH ROCKDALE AND INTO THE

PRAESEL ADDITION WAS WANTED ON ACTIVE TRAVIS

COUNTY WARRANTS. KYLE JAY JONES CURRENTLY HAS

ACTIVE FELONY WARRANTS OUT OF TRAVIS COUNTY

FOR POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE,

EVADING ARREST OR DETENTION WITH A VEHICLE,

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT ON

A PUBLIC SERVANT. JONES SPED AWAY FROM THE STOP

AND LED AREA LAW ENFORCEMENT ON A 35 MINUTE

VEHICLE PURSUIT THROUGH ROCKDALE NEIGHBORHOODS

AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. HE ABANDONED HIS VEHICLE

IN THE PRAESEL ADDITION. ANYONE WITH INFORMATION

DISTRICT MOVED FORWARD WITH A DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DEVELOPMENT AROUND

THE BOARD REACHED AN AGREEMENT WITH THE PROPERTY

OWNER FOR THE PROJECT, TITLED “PROJECT PECAN,” AND

APPROVED AN ENGINEERING AGREEMENT WITH K-P-A

ENGINEERS FOR PROJECT PECAN. THE PROJECT WILL BE

DEVELOPED INTO A LIGHT INDUSTRIAL PARK WITH THE

SPECIFIED PURPOSE OF BRINGING IN SAMSUNG SUPPLIERS

AND SUPPLIERS FOR OTHER CHIP PLANTS THAT ARE

261 THOUSAND DOLLARS OF TAX REVENUE TO BE

AROUND 12:15 AM ON SEPT. 4TH AT F-M 485 AND

COUNTY ROAD 140. AUTHORITIES SAY FLOREZ DISREGARDED

A STOP SIGN AND COLLIDED WITH A 2017 MAZDA. 2 ADULTS

AND 3 CHILDREN WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL

AFTER THE CRASH.
