AROUND 7:45 ON FM 2484 AND GRAVEL CROSSING

ROAD. HER ABANDONED CAR WAS FOUND BY

HER SISTER AROUND 11:30 FRIDAY MORNING.

BETTINCOURT, WHO LIVES SOUTH OF KILLEEN

NEAR HIGHWAY 195 IS DESCRIBE AS 5 FOOT 5 WITH

BROWN HAIR AND BLUE EYES.  ANYONE WITH

INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL THE BELL COUNTY

SHERIFFS OFFICE AT 254-933-5412.

(NORMANGEE)–THE NORMANGEE CITY COUNCIL

MEETING THURSDAY REVEALED A BACKGROUND CHECK

WAS NOT PREFORMED ON CHIEF CHARLES HERFORD WHO

WAS ARRESTED WEDNESDAY.

FRIDAY MORNING A LOCAL AREA TV STATION REPORTED

THAT FORMER NORMANGEE MAYER RONNIE MEADORS

DID PREFORM A BACKGROUND CHECK ON HERFORD.

MEADORS TOLD THE STATION THAT HE DID TAKE NOTES

ON THE BACKGROUND CHECK, BUT MORE THAN LIKELY

THEY DIDN’T FILE ANYTHING IN CITY RECORDS OR IN

HERFORD’S PERSONNEL FILE.

ON FRIDAY MORNING NORMANGEE CITY COUNCIL

OFFICIALS SAID THAT MAYOR DAWKINS MAY HAVE

MISSPOKE AT THE COUNCIL MEETING THURSDAY.

THEY BELIEVE THERE WAS A BACKGROUND CHECK

PERFORMED, BUT NEVER FILED IN THE CITY RECORDS.

A SPECIAL MEETING IS EXPECTED TO BE HELD PRIOR

TO THE REGULAR MEETING IN APRIL TO TAKE

FURTHER ACTION ON HERFORD.

(CAMERON)–CAMERON FIREMEN WERE CALLED OUT

TO 800 SOUTH RUSK AROUND 11:30 FRIDAY MORNING.

ACCORDING TO CAMERON POLICE AN OVEN CAUGHT

FIRE.  FIREMEN HAD THE FIRE UNDER CONTROL WITHIN

MINUTES AFTER ARRIVING AT THE SCENE.

(UNDATED)–NO ONE INJURIES REPORTED IN A ONE

VEHICLE CRASH FRIDAY. THE WRECK WAS REPORTED

JUST AFTER 6PM ON FM 485 EAST. D-P-S TROOPER SIMS

INVESTIGATED.

(TAYLOR)–THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED IN

A 3 VEHICLE ACCIDENT AT 4TH AND MAIN IN TAYLOR

AT 12 NOON FRIDAY. TAYLOR POLICE INVESTIGATED.

NO OTHER DETAILS WERE RELEASED BY TAYLOR

POLICE.

(THORNDALE)–THE THORNDALE SCHOOL BOARD

HELD THREE MEETINGS ON MARCH 20TH TO HEAR

ABOUT THE DISTRICT OF INNOVATION PLAN.  IN THE

FIRST MEETING, THE BOARD VOTED 4-0 TO EXPLORE

AND PURSUE THE DISTRICT INNOVATION PLAN.

THE BOARD HELD A PUBLIC HEARING AT 6:30PM FOR

BUSINESS MANAGER, REBECA PEEL TO GIVE A

PRESENTATION ON THE BENEFITS OF THE

DISTRICT INNOVATION PLAN. FOLLOWING THE

PUBLIC HEARING THE BOARD HELD THEIR REGULAR

MONTHLY MEETING. DURING THE REGULAR MEETING

THE BOARD VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO APPROVE THE

DISTRICT INNOVATION PLAN, APPROVED THE GIFTED

AND TALENTED HANDBOOK. THE BOARD ALSO APPROVED

THE BUDGET AMENDMENT TO MOVE FUNDS TO PAY FOR

A SUBSCRIPTION FOR A SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM.

THE BOARD WENT INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS

PERSONNEL, WHEN THEY RECONVENED IN OPEN SESSION

THEY APPROVED SEVERAL TEACHER CONTRACTS AND

APPROVED THE NEW CONTRACT FOR THE NEW

SCHOOL NURSE FOR THE 2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR.
