FIREMEN WERE FIRST CALLED TO 220 DIVISION FOR A

STOVE FIRE JUST AFTER 7 PM. FIREMEN WERE LATER CALLED

BACK TO THE SAME LOCATION AROUND 12:45 THIS (TUESDAY)

MORNING AS A STRUCTURE FIRE.

(GAUSE)–GAUSE FIREMEN WERE SUMMONED TO A

STRUCTURE FIRE AT 413 PROFESSOR SMITH ROAD IN

GAUSE AROUND 2:15 THIS (TUESDAY) MORNING. MILANO

FIREMEN WERE CALLED TO ASSIST GAUSE FIREMEN

AROUND 2:45 THIS (TUESDAY) MORNING. FIREMEN

WERE ON THE SCENE FOR SOME TIME.

(BASTROP)–BASTROP COUNTY PROSECUTORS HAVE

ASKED FOR A NOVEMBER EXECUTION DATE FOR A MAN

CHARGED IN THE 1996 MURDER OF A WOMAN NEAR

BASTROP. PROSECUTORS ASKED FOR A NOV. 20TH

DATE FOR EXECUTION FOR RODNEY REED, ACCUSED AND

CONVICTED IN THE KLLING OF STACEY STITES. DEFENSE

ATTORNEYS SAY THE MOVE WAS MADE IN RESPONSE TO

A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE ABOUT EFFORTS BY REED’S

FAMILY AND SUPPORTERS TO FIGHT HIS CONVICTION.

(BRYAN)–BRYAN I-S-D’S CAREER AND TECHNICAL

EDUCATION COMPLEX WILL OPEN IN AUGUST, AND

WILL HAVE 2 SMALLER SCHOOL DISTRICTS PARTICIPATING.

THE BRYAN SCHOOL BOARD APPROVED A MEMO OF

UNDERSTANDING WITH CALDWELL AND SNOOK SCHOOL

DISTRICTS TO ENROLL IN CAREER AND TECHNICAL

EDUCATION COURSES AT THE NEW COMPLEX.
