(ROCKDALE)–VOTERS COULD POTENTIALLY

DECIDE THE FATE OF THE HALF CENT SALES TAX

CURRENTLY SUPPORTING THE ROCKDALE MUNICIPAL

DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT, BUT IT WOULD OFFICIALLY

HAVE TO APPEAR ON THE CITY COUNCIL AGENDA

FIRST, AND NO ACTION CAN BE TAKEN UNTIL THAT

HAPPENS. DICK BURNS PRESENTED THE PETITION

WITH 200 SIGNATURES TO THE CITY COUNCIL DURING

THE PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PORTION OF MONDAY’S

MEETING. CITY MANAGER CHRIS WHITTAKER NOTED

THAT THE PETITION IS NON-BINDING, UNLIKE A

PETITION TO RECALL A COUNCIL MEMBER, AND

A MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL HAS TO PLACE THE ISSUE

ON THE AGENDA TO BE CONSIDERED.

(ROCKDALE)–THERE WERE NO INJURIES IN A TWO

VEHICLE CRASH IN FRONT OF MCDONALD’S FRIDAY

AFTERNOON AROUND 4:15 PM.  DRIVERS WERE MARSHALL

PHILLIPS OF SAN ANTONIO AND CHRISTIAN HIBBRA

OF ROCKDALE.

(RURAL MILAM COUNTY)–TWO RURAL WRECKS WERE

REPORTED FRIDAY IN MILAM COUNTY.  THE FIRST

CRASH WAS ON HIGHWAY 77 NEAR F-M 487 SOUTH OF

ROCKDALE AND THE SECOND WRECK ON CR 434 LOOP.

NO ONE WAS HURT.  TROOPER TICE INVESTIGATED

BOTH WRECKS.  LEXINGTON D-P-S INVESTIGATED

A WRECK WITH POSSIBLE INJURIES  ON HIGHWAY 77

AROUND 8 A-M SATURDAY.

(ROCKDALE)–A 34 YEAR OLD ROCKDALE MAN WAS

ARRESTED FRIDAY BY SHERIFF’S INVESTIGATOR

JOHN MENDOZA FOR THREE COUNTS OF SEXUAL

ASSAULT OF A CHILD.  NO BOND HAS BEEN SET FOR

KODY LEE LAND OF OAK PARK 2 WEST OF ROCKALE.

(ROCKDALE)–ROCKDALE’S 2020 ROCKDALE CHAMBER

OF COMMERCE BANQUET FOR SET FOR MARCH 19TH AT
