(MILAM COUNTY)–FOUR ACCIDENTS WERE REPORTED

IN MILAM COUNTY OVER THE PAST 24HOURS…NO

INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND ONE WRECK INVOLVED

A DEER. WRECKS WERE REPORTED ON CR 405 FRIDAY AM,

ON HIGHWAY 79 LAST NIGHT, EARLY TODAY ON COUNTY

ROAD 315 AND HIGHWAY 79, AND THIS MORNING

ON COUNTY ROAD 305.

(CAMERON)–THIRTY SIX CASES WERE PRESENTED TO THE

GRAND JURY THIS WEEK…ONE CASE WAS NO BILLED.

(CAMERON)–CAMERON IS GETTING A NEW BUSINESS

THAT WILL EMPLOYEE SOME 15 PEOPLE…ITS THE

UNITED PORTABLE BUILDING COMPANY HEADQUARTER

IN TEMPLE. IT WILL BE HOUSED IN THE OLD WALLED

LAKE DOOR FACTORY BUILDING IN CAMERON.

(CAMERON)–THE MILAM COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT

WILL BE MEETING ON MONDAY AT 10 AM. CAMERON

IS MOVING AHEAD WITH A GRANT APPLICATION THAT COULD

PROVIDE SIDEWALKS IN THE SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL

PROGRAM FROM TX DOT.

(CUERO)–ROCKDALE IS IN CUERO TODAY FOR THE

CUERO RELAYS.

(CAMERON)–THE CAMERON SCHOOL BOARD

NARROWED THE SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH DURING

THE BOARD MEETING THIS WEEK. THE BOARD CHOSE

6 CANDIDATES AS THE NUMBER OF APPLICANTS TO

BE INTERVIEWED IN THE SEARCH PROCESS. CURRENT

SUPERINTENDENT ALLAN SAPP ANNOUNCED HE WILL

RETIRE AT THE END OF THE SUMMER TO END A 34 YEAR

CAREER IN EDUCATION.
