The Cameron ISD Scholarship Foundation is set to present the 4th annual golf tournament Saturday, April 20th at the Cameron Country Club with a shotgun start of 10 am. The cost is $240 per team and $60 per individual, which includes a mulligan. The 4-man scramble is an 18 hole, which is open to all golfers. Trophies will be awarded to 1-3rd place as well as closest to the pin and longest drive. Carts are available to rent and private carts are welcome. Easter Fest will be held on Saturday, April 20th at 2 pm at 802 South College Street in Cameron. There will be Live music throughout the day. There will also be a pastor dunk booth, face painting, Easter egg hunt, youth fundraiser, and food. All money raised will go towards the youth camp fundraiser.

There will be a Community Sunrise Service Easter morning Sunday. April 21st at 6:30 am on the Downtown Mall in Cameron. Abiding Savior Lutheran Church and the Cameron Area Ministerial Alliance sponsor the service. Dress is casual, there will be chairs available or you can remain in your vehicle if you so desire. The Milam County Health Department is collaborating with the Texas Department of State Health Services Public Health Region 7, Texas A&M University, School of Public Health, EPI Assist Team, and public health professionals from other Counties will conduct a County Health Assessment survey on Friday, April 26th and Saturday, April 27th. The purpose of the County Health Assessment is to assess public health and develop a five-year health strategy for Milam County to best utilize the Health Departments resources while improving public health needs. Across the county about two hundred and ten homes will be randomly selected to conduct the survey. Training will be conducted at Bea’s Kitchen to support the survey on the morning of April 26th. In the afternoon between 3 pm – 5:30 pm groups will go out and begin taking surveys at residences. About 10 to 15 teams of 2 to 3 public health professionals and Texas A&M School of Public Health students will be conducting the survey. The health professionals will have vests which have “Public Health” on them and the A&M students will be wearing a maroon shirt which will have “EPI Assist”. On April 27th, more surveys will be conducted around the county between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm. The survey should take between 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

The Cameron citywide cleanup will be Saturday, April 27th, from 8 am-3 pm at the City Yard at 701 East Main in Cameron. There will be free disposal for city residents. You must present your city water bill to take part. Acceptable items include unbundled brush, furniture, yard waste, appliances without freon, and tires. Items NOT accepted include: paints and thinners, antifreeze, pesticides, herbicides, gasoline, automotive products, used motor oil and filters, Freon items. The Rockdale Spring Athletic Banquet is Tuesday, April 30th at 6 pm. at the Rockdale Junior High Commons. Tickets for the Athletic Banquet are now on sale at the Athletic Office.Tickets are $5.00 each. Parents do not have to pay to attend the banquet and only need to purchase a ticket if they want to eat. All High School Athletes that participated in girls basketball, boys basketball, power lifting, soccer, golf, girls track, boys track, tennis, baseball and softball are provided a meal ticket. These tickets will be handed out during athletic periods. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door the night of the banquet.

The 18th Annual MARC RUN brought to you by The Bad to the Bone Riders of Rockdale will take place on Saturday, June 8th, at The Ranch in Rockdale. This annual ride benefits The M.A.R.C. (Milam Adult Resource Center) of Milam County, which serves all Milam County Adult Residents with Physical & Learning Disabilities.
