The American Legion in Giddings will hold their Annual Bar-B-Que on Sunday, March 4 at the American Legion Hall on South Highway 77 in Giddings. Adult plate are $10 and Child plate $5. Rockdale PAWS is an Organization that socializes, cares for and finds foster homes or forever homes for animals picked up by Rockdale Animal Control. They are looking to pet lovers for help. Pack Pals a 501c (3) non-profit organization currently serving the children of Rockdale and Milano School Districts is looking for donations. This program provides weekend supply of nutritious food for children when school lunch of breakfast is unavailable on a weekday, weekend or school holiday. Rockdale I-S-D Gold Cards are available for complimentary general admission to school events, sports, etc., for persons who are 60 years of age or older and live within the Rockdale Independent School District. The Cameron Volunteer Fire Department is accepting applications for membership in the department. No prior fire service qualifications are needed. Applicants must be 18 years of age, no criminal history, have a drivers license, a vehicle to respond with, live within a few miles of Cameron, and most of all be able to respond to fires and attend meetings and drills each Monday.
